The director, Milap Zaveri, known for his action entertainers like Satyamev Jayate and Marjaavaan, revealed that Aditya Roy Kapur would be his first choice for the film. According to the interview with the Bombay Times, the director said that the film would have emotions similar to those of Aashiqui 2 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat but with a distinctive flavor.

Milap Zaveri says, "This film is unique. It's in the same genre as films like "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat" and "Aashiqui 2," but it has its own uniqueness. This time, I want to reach both the general audience and the niche audience, meaning both single screens and multiplexes." Explaining why Aditya was the first choice for the film, Milap said, "Adi was my choice because "Aashiqui 2" and "Malang" have proven his strong connection with both the general audience and the female audience. He's a brilliant actor. He's handsome. He has a great physique for action. He looks great in musical films."

Milap has directed Harshvardhan Rane's "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat." He also dismissed speculation that he and Harshvardhan would never work together again. Milap said, "I will work with Harshvardhan Rane again soon. I like him and he's a friend. The good thing is that Harsh has many good projects like 'Force 3' and 'Sila', and we will definitely do a film together soon."

Milap's next film, starring Aditya Roy Kapur, is yet to be titled. Shooting will begin soon and it will be released next year. Aditya Roy Kapur was last seen in Anurag Basu's romantic drama 'Metro... These Days' (2025). Prior to that, he played the lead role in the action thriller 'Gumrah' (2023).
