MUMBAI — Building on the international success of Hanu-Man, filmmaker Prasanth Varma and RKD Studios have announced the next major milestone for their expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). The official first look and teaser character glimpse of actor Akshaye Khanna as the mythological sage Shukracharya in the upcoming feature Mahakali will be unveiled on August 24.
Production house RKD Studios sparked widespread fan engagement on Wednesday after sharing a cryptic promotional image across official social channels captioned, "24th August - The End Begins".
The reveal will mark the first detailed motion footage of Khanna in the role, following earlier poster teasers that depicted the actor transformed with a flowing silver beard, ascetic robes, and intense, luminous eyes.
Social Media Reaction and Industry Buzz
The announcement triggered immediate enthusiasm across digital platforms, with moviegoers praising Khanna's entry into high-concept Indian mythological cinema.
"Doomsday can wait... I am excited for this project more," wrote one fan on Instagram. Another commented, "This frame and look... Goosebumps. Can't wait to see AK in the avatar."
Khanna's portrayal of Shukracharya—traditionally revered in Indian scriptures as the formidable guru and mentor to the Asuras—marks his formal debut in Telugu-origin pan-Indian cinema.

"From the universe of Hanu-Man, prepare for the rise of Mahakali."
