The character of Guddu Pandit from the web series Mirzapur is an iconic one in the acting career of Ali Fazal. He will be seen reprising his character soon in Mirzapur: The Movie.

However, the journey to reprise this character has not been very easy for him. Ali Fazal recently spoke about how he dedicated 15 months for the same. Here's what the Mirzapur actor said:

Actors have a tough time detaching themselves from their well-known characters and presenting them in a new light. Similar was the case for actor Ali Fazal. His character of Guddu Pandit in the web series of Mirzapur proved to be a tough nut to crack for Ali when he had to reprise this character in the upcoming movie of Mirzapur: The Movie.

Ali underwent 15 months of strict physical training to incarnate as Guddu Pandit. While making his character appear powerful and imposing, Ali made sure that the essence of the original character and anger remained intact.

Ali says, "Guddu has always been a physically strong character, as he is a wrestler, but for the film, I had to take this aspect further. I wanted him to appear powerful and intimidating, while still maintaining his Guddu identity. For me, this change was a way to break away from the character from the series and do something different. Guddu has always possessed a fire, anger, and a hunger for achievement."

Fans are experiencing tremendous excitement for producer Farhan Akhtar's film, Mirzapur: The Movie. Everyone is eagerly awaiting this gangster drama. Regarding the release date of Mirzapur, the film is slated to release in theaters worldwide on September 4, 2026. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan among others.
