Released in 2003, Salman Khan's film "Tere Naam" was a box office success. Salman Khan's hairstyle in the film set a new trend. Bhumika Chawla played the lead role opposite Salman and was also praised. However, the role was offered to Ameesha Patel before Bhumika. Now, Ameesha has expressed her disappointment at having to turn down the film. She explained why she said no.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha spoke about "Tere Naam." She admitted that she regrets saying no to "Tere Naam." The actress said, "I wish I hadn't refused." But when Salman offered me the film, everything was up in the air. There were no fixed dates for the film. Even the director wasn't on board. Salman was very excited about Tere Naam, and rightly so. By the time Satish Kaushik came on board, I was already busy and committed to other projects.

Ameesha explained that the film went through the hands of several directors. She said that nothing was finalized at that time, and as an actress, I couldn't take back the time I had given to others. If Salman had come to me with a fixed date and a fixed director and said we were ready to shoot, I certainly wouldn't have refused a film like 'Tere Naam'.

Of course, it was a beautiful film, and I loved the story. I loved the songs. So, yes, it's definitely my loss. But unfortunately, I couldn't commit my dates.

'Tere Naam' was directed by Satish Kaushik. Bhumika Chawla played the lead role in the film. The film revolves around Radhe (Salman Khan), a college dropout who adopts street manners and is an obsessive lover. He falls in love with a girl, played by Bhumika, whom he stalks and then kidnaps. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Sethu. The film was a box office success.
