Ajay Devgn's "Drishyam: The Conclusion," also called "Drishyam 3," has crossed the ₹100 crore mark in just two days. According to early Sacnilk trade data, the film earned ₹46.20 crore net on its second day, Saturday, across more than 15,954 shows. That brings the two-day domestic net total to ₹108.20 crore, and the report notes that final figures could turn out higher.
The Numbers
The Day 2 estimate may rise close to ₹50 crore once actuals arrive. The film released on October 2, and the weekend is expected to strengthen further, with Sunday earnings anticipated to be higher than Saturday's.
Closing In on Mohanlal's Film
The most striking comparison is with Mohanlal's Malayalam "Drishyam 3," which released about four and a half months ago and finished with a lifetime net of ₹110 crore. Devgn's film is only about ₹2 crore short of that total after two days. Despite the comparison, the Hindi film is an original story and is not a remake of the Malayalam version, and its scenes and climax have reportedly left a strong impression on audiences.
A Career-Best Start
The film is already the biggest opener of Devgn's career, ahead of Singham Again, which opened at about ₹43 crore. A strong second day, normally a test of word of mouth, suggests the buzz is holding up.
Why This Matters
For a suspense thriller, where audiences already know the franchise's central mystery, holding momentum on the second day shows the brand's pull. If the weekend ends strongly, the film could set the pace for the October box office and put pressure on films still in theatres, including Hanuman Ansh.
Cast and Crew
The film stars Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Prakash Raj, Ishita Dutta and Mrinal Jadhav. It is written and directed by Abhishek Pathak.
