The movie Mom starring legendary actress Sridevi was released in 2017 and was a commercial success. After almost nine years from its release, the movie is now getting a sequel, and the following is an update on the sequel.
The daughter of the producer of Mom, Khushi Kapoor, will star in Mom 2, which is a sequel to the hit movie Mom released in 2017 and is set to be released in theaters in November 2026. The movie was filmed in Noida and Greece.
According to reports in the Free Press Journal, "Mom 2" will be connected to Sridevi's memorable role, which earned her recognition. "Mom" was Sridevi's last film, so this project is considered very emotional and special for Khushi Kapoor, as she will be seen carrying forward her mother's legacy.
Khushi Kapoor made her debut with "The Archies," but projects like "Nadaniyaan" and "LoveYapa" received a lackluster response. Consequently, "Mom 2" is being considered a major turning point in her career.
According to the report, a source who viewed early footage of the film described Khushi's acting as a significant improvement. They said that Khushi displays more emotional depth this time around and even shows glimpses of Sridevi at times.
Karishma Tanna and Jisshu Sengupta will also be seen in important roles in the film. Girish Kohli is directing this thriller.
It is being reported that 'Mom 2' will not continue the straightforward story of the first film, but will instead present a new narrative. The film will depict a story of justice through suspense, drama, and strong female characters.
It is worth noting that the first film was directed by Ravi Udaywar, for which Sridevi was honored with a National Award after her death.
