In January 2025, there was a case wherein a man had broken into the house of Saif Ali Khan and tried to commit theft. However, during the process, he even assaulted him with a knife. Recently, after one and a half year, there is a new development regarding this particular case.
The Bangladeshi man who was accused of assaulting Saif with a knife wanted to plead guilty for the same. The court has issued notice to the prosecution in this regard.
The accused was taken into custody two days after the incident took place with Saif Ali Khan. According to the accused's lawyer Vipul Dushing, the accused wants to plead guilty.
The accused filed an application before the court wherein he pleaded for leniency. The court asked the prosecution to file its response.
The hearing in the case was adjourned until September 11th. The court will reconsider the matter on September 11th. Earlier this month, Additional Sessions Judge G.P. Deshmukh framed charges against the accused.
On January 16, 2025, the accused entered Saif Ali Khan's Bandra home through the bathroom and attacked him with a knife. After several days of police investigation, the accused was apprehended. His name was Shariful Fakir. He entered Saif's home with the intention of stealing. He entered Jeh's room through the bathroom. When Saif went to the room to save his son, Shariful attacked him with a knife and fled. However, he was captured on CCTV.
Saif Ali Khan was immediately taken to the hospital after the incident. He underwent a five-hour surgery, which removed a broken piece of the knife from Saif's waist. After staying in the hospital for a few days, Saif returned home.
