Mumbai, August 4: Actress Sonam Kapoor took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she revisited moments from her debut film "Saawariya", sharing an emotional tribute to the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial that launched her acting career alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
The actress reposted a video shared by Bhansali Productions on her Instagram Stories, celebrating some of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most memorable cinematic moments. The montage featured the soulful track "Aayat" from Bajirao Mastani, paired with romantic scenes of Sonam and Ranbir from Saawariya.
The video also included iconic visuals from Bhansali's acclaimed films, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Devdas and Amitabh Bachchan in Black, highlighting the filmmaker's signature storytelling and visual grandeur.
Sharing the montage with her followers, Sonam captioned it, "Baarish mein har nazar, har lamha….ek naya ehsaas ban jaata hai," reflecting the nostalgic mood of the tribute.
A Debut That Marked the Arrival of Two Bollywood Stars
Released on November 9, 2007, Saawariya marked the acting debuts of both Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. Directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the musical romantic drama was inspired by Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1848 short story White Nights.
The film also holds a special place in Indian cinema as it featured the final screen appearances of veteran actors Zohra Sehgal and Begum Para before their passing.
Apart from its lead cast, Saawariya included special appearances by Rani Mukerji and Salman Khan, adding further star power to the film.
