Chennai, Aug 5 — The makers of director and actor Naveen Hidhayath’s eagerly awaited Tamil film Moodar Koodam 2 on Wednesday released the first look of the entertainer, drawing an enthusiastic response from fans.

Taking to its social media timelines to unveil the first-look poster, production house Grandel Pictures wrote: “The fools (have) gathered again #MoodarKoodam2 #MISSIONPOSSIBLE. Stay tuned till 5:55 PM - We have more to come (Tamil & Telugu Release).”

Sources close to the unit said the film, a sequel to the dark-comedy action entertainer Moodar Koodam that emerged a commercial success, will pick up from where the first part ended. “It will be a proper sequel,” a source said, adding that the story takes audiences on a thrilling ride across Europe.

The unit has shot the film at a range of locations across the continent. “The team has shot in Italy’s picturesque landscapes. They have shot visuals that will highlight Germany’s historic architecture, Switzerland’s snow-capped mountains, Austria’s grandeur, Croatia’s coastal beauty, Slovenia’s lush greenery, and Kazakhstan’s vast steppes. In fact, the team spent anywhere between 60 to 70 days capturing breathtaking visuals,” the source said.

The film aims to blend dark humour with high-stakes action, drawing comparisons to Mission Impossible, while incorporating a touch of fantasy. Produced by Kamal Bohra and Samkit Bohra under Grandel Pictures, it features top-notch animation and visual effects handled by a seasoned US team that has worked on Disney blockbusters.

Apart from Naveen Hidhayath, the cast includes actress Oviya and actors Senrayan, Rajaji, Kuberan and Jayaprakash, among others.

On the technical front, cinematography is by Sooraj Nallusami. Music for the songs has been scored by Amrish and Natarajan Sankaran, while the background score is also by Natarajan Sankaran. Editing is by Athiappan Siva, and stunts have been choreographed by Mahesh Mathew and Nomad Stunts.

The first-look release marks the formal unveiling of the sequel, which promises an expansive canvas and a mix of comedy, action and visual spectacle.
