Amaal Mallik is one of the popular music composers in the present day. Last year, he was a part of Bigg Boss Season 19 as a contestant. There, he shared many stories from his life, which made one wonder if things were normal between Amaal and his family.

Now, in a conversation with Pinkvilla, the singer has revealed more on this. In the conversation with Pinkvilla, Amaal Mallik spoke about his initial days and mentioned that despite being a musician by background, he had a hard time for over 10 years. He said, "The 10 years I saw from 15 to 25 are usually seen as a separate timeline, but for me, it was all very good because all those struggles, all those difficulties, all those obstacles came at a very early stage in my life."

He further said, "At 15, I used to roam the streets, doing my own work, whether it was as an assistant or as a delivery boy." Amaal explained that he didn't get anything handed to him. He also worked as an assistant and even roamed around with a hard disk to earn money.

But the most surprising thing was that people behaved very strangely because of his family name. The singer said, "Wherever I got a job as an assistant, as soon as they found out my surname was Malik, they would fire me... They would say that because I come from a musical background, I might sell their music or something. That kind of perception was prevalent. So this is exactly what happened to me and my brother Armaan Malik."
