Diljit Dosanjh, an actor-musician, is known to mention Punjab regardless of his whereabouts. He expressed that he would rather make others feel happy than join politics. In response to those who tried to convince him to be the new face of Punjab's politics, Diljit refused.

As per Punjabi Tribune, the recently retired army officers and citizens from various communities have been persuading Diljit to join politics. The group, headed by the retired army officer, SS Boparai, feels that Diljit should spearhead the movement for entering politics.

Responding to one such post, Diljit rejected the appeal. He clarified that he finds greater joy in acting and singing. He wrote, "Never. My job is to entertain. I'm very happy in my field. Thank you so much." Commenting on his post, a fan said, "Thank you! Don't ruin your life's purpose by pursuing politics. You'll lose yourself in that dirty place." Another fan wrote, "Excellent response."

Recently, Diljit made headlines when, during one of his concerts, he addressed protesters waving pro-Khalistan flags. He thundered at them, "If you still have a problem with the fact that I was sitting in front of someone on television, then keep showing as many flags as you want."

Diljit Dosanjh was last seen in the Punjabi film "Sardar Ji 3" in 2025 and the Hindi film "Border 2" this year. He also has Imtiaz Ali's "Main Wapas Aaunga" in the pipeline.
