Singer Zubeen Garg's death certificate has been sent to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma by the Singapore High Commission. The cause of death is clearly stated in the death certificate. Despite receiving this death certificate, the Assam CM has assured the family of an investigation into Zubeen's death.
Speaking to the media, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The Singapore High Commission has sent Zubeen Garg's death certificate, which states drowning as the cause of death, but this is not the post-mortem report." The post-mortem report is different from the death certificate. We will send the documents to the CID. The Chief Secretary of the Assam government is contacting the Singapore Ambassador to obtain the post-mortem report as soon as possible.
Singer Zubeen Garg died in a scuba diving accident in Singapore on September 19. Singer Zubeen was in Singapore for the Northeast India Festival. Following his death, the festival organizers issued a statement saying that Zubeen Garg had difficulty breathing while scuba diving and was given CPR before being taken to Singapore General Hospital. Every effort was made to revive Zubeen. His body was later brought to Delhi. The singer's body arrived in Guwahati on Sunday morning.
