Dadi was portrayed by Ali Asgar on "Comedy Nights with Kapil" for many years. Recently, while being interviewed, Ali Asgar talked about his reason to leave the show and stop playing women on TV.

Ali revealed all this in a recent interview with Manish Paul. Ali Asgar recalled a period in his career when he was only doing drag roles and realized, "This is all I'm doing."

Ali said, "People watching this might say, 'Is this crazy?' Why did he leave it?' But at that time, 'Comedy Circus' aired on Saturdays and Sundays, and I played a female character in both acts. Gradually, I developed that image. It became easier for the writers, too, and they kept writing female roles for me again and again.

Ali felt that his full potential was not being utilized. He wanted to grow as an actor. He said, "Sometimes I felt bad and felt that this wasn't the only thing I wanted to do. I wanted to do more. I would say, 'Give me a chance, at least let me try. If you don't like it, let me know later.'"

He added, "I continued doing all this because I needed work. This is my livelihood. You have to think about all this." He also revealed that he feared being replaced if he refused.

Finally, Ali explained that he was forced to keep playing the same type of character until his children complained. He revealed that his children were bullied because of his on-screen roles.
