Telugu actor Allu Sirish has taken to social media to raise a noise pollution concern in his Hyderabad neighborhood, tagging the Hyderabad City Police and requesting swift action. The actor, the younger son of producer Allu Aravind and brother of actor Allu Arjun, said the issue has been disrupting daily life in his residential society for several days.

What Sirish Said

Sharing a video along with his post, Sirish explained the situation as a resident of the Aparna Van society in Shaikpet. "I am a resident of Aparna Van in Sheikhpet. For the past few days, music has been playing at a volume exceeding the prescribed decibel level at the Hanuman Temple in Vinobha Nagar until 2-3 a.m. I have filed a complaint with the Film Nagar Police Station," he wrote.

He added that officials had earlier asked residents to hold off on enforcement: "But they asked us to wait until September 25th because Ganesh Visarjan was underway. The festival is over, but the loud music hasn't stopped. Many elderly people, children, and working people in our society are disturbed by this and have already filed several complaints. But no action has been taken. I request you to please look into this. Thank you."

Why It Matters: A Broader Urban Noise Concern

Sirish's post raises a familiar civic challenge in large Indian cities: balancing festival and community celebrations with residents' right to peace, particularly late at night. Noise limits for public sound systems are set by law, and complaints of this kind tend to spike during festival seasons. His framing was notably focused on enforcement of decibel limits and the impact on vulnerable residents, such as children and the elderly, rather than on any particular community or practice, and the case highlights how public figures' posts can sometimes accelerate responses to ordinary civic complaints.

Police Respond

The Hyderabad City Police responded to the post through the same platform, stating, "Sir, this matter has been shared with the SHO, Film Nagar, for necessary action." No further details on any enforcement steps had been shared at the time of writing.

About Allu Sirish

Allu Sirish made his acting debut in 2013 with "Gouravam" and has since appeared in Telugu films including "Kotha Janta," "Srirastu Subhamastu," "Okka Kshanam," and "ABCD: American Born Confused Desi." He made his Malayalam debut with "1971: Beyond Borders," starring Mohanlal, and has also worked in Tamil cinema. His most recent release was the 2024 Telugu film "Buddy," directed by Sam Anton.

What Comes Next

With the complaint now formally flagged to the local police station, residents in the area will be watching to see whether the sound levels are brought within the prescribed limits. If enforcement follows, it may offer a template for how similar recurring noise complaints are handled once festival periods conclude.
