Famous lyricist Javed Akhtar has talked about the problems faced by artistes in India. He addressed the issue of the changed scenario in the music industry. He stated that although talent is very important, it may not be sufficient for sustaining oneself throughout one’s life.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, he was asked whether talent alone is enough to survive in today's music industry. Javed said, "Talent alone cannot build a long-lasting career. Artists also need the right ecosystem. Access to audiences, platforms, stages, promoters, and agencies, as well as recognition outside their region, is crucial. Showcase festivals and music marketplaces are essential." These discover new talents and open avenues for growth.

Javed also discussed why, despite India's large artist population, many talented musicians remain unsung. He explained, "There has never been a shortage of talent in India. It's often the lack of necessary channels to discover that talent. Every region of our country has its own musical language, traditions, and stories."

Javed also recently explained the reasons for his refusal to work on "Border 2." He explained that although he was offered the opportunity to compose music for the film, he didn't want to accept the offer because the film would have to reuse songs from the original film.

Javed Akhtar has written songs for the upcoming film "Partition 1947," starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. The film will be released on August 14th.
