Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has described the leadership of the “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP) as anti-national forces. She was asked about the events in Delhi and alleged that the protests were a conspiracy to destabilise the country. She said people were now exposing such forces, adding that ordinary people, not just the police, would catch them and demand answers because they had begun recognising them.

She made the comments on arriving in Lucknow on her way to Ayodhya, where she said she would worship Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple. Kangana, who is the MP from Mandi, said forces are working to protect the country but stressed that citizens should not face inconvenience.

What Happened in Delhi

The CJP had called a large protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. According to the report, Delhi Police detained its leaders before protesters could reach the site. More than 6,000 people were detained across Delhi on Saturday, and most were later released. The report adds that about 41,000 security personnel were deployed, large parts of the city were deserted, and students, lawyers and politicians were stopped from going to Jantar Mantar.

What the Protesters Want

The CJP has been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the SIR of the voter list. The group says it is concerned about the wrongful deletion of voters’ names and wants more transparency in the revision process. The report does not include a response from the Election Commission or from Kangana’s side to these allegations.

Why It Matters

The episode places a film-industry figure in the middle of a politically charged debate, with sharply different readings of the same event. Kangana describes it as a threat to the country, while the protesters frame it as a demand for electoral transparency. Official figures and statements from the police, the Election Commission and the CJP will be needed to establish what happened and why.
