Jason Sanjay, the son of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister and actor Vijay, will be making his directorial debut in Kollywood with the film “Sigma.” Jason is now promoting his forthcoming film. He recently spoke highly of an action film that did not belong to his dad.
Jason expressed his opinions on his favorite commercial entertainer, but it was not his dad’s film. The film that he appreciated the most is “KGF” by Prashanth Neel and starring Yash.
He said, "Actually, I liked KGF because of its action." It's a fantasy world set against a historical backdrop. It has great action." He further added, "The way it manages to convince the audience while remaining raw is great. So, I'm a big fan of 'KGF'. I really like the overall tone of the film. They stayed true to the genre."
The KGF franchise is one of the biggest success stories in Kannada cinema and India. Released in 2018 and 2022, "KGF: Chapter 1" and "2" captivated audiences. Starring Yash and Rukmini Vasanth, the films were praised for their intense action and grand scale. Both films, produced by Hombale Films, achieved pan-India success. The franchise grossed over ₹1,400 crore worldwide.
"Sigma" is Jason's directorial debut. It stars Sundeep Kishan, Faria Abdullah, and Raju Sundaram. It is produced by Lyca Productions and was scheduled for release on July 31st. The film's release was postponed due to "Jana Nayakan." A new release date has not yet been announced. The film is based on a heist in which a cast of unusual characters embark on a dangerous mission. Jason studied filmmaking in the United States before directing his first film.
