In an interesting turn of events, Balaji recently got an opportunity to meet Thalapathy Vijay, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Balaji shared photos of the meeting on social media, describing the experience as incredible.
Sharing photos of his meeting with Vijay on his Instagram account, RJ Balaji wrote, "With the man who started Karuppu. It feels incredible to meet him as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The same love, warmth, kindness, and peace." Thank you for everything, Vijay sir.
Earlier, RJ Balaji revealed in an interview that he had initially chosen actor Vijay for "Karuppu" and offered him the role. According to Balaji, the project was initially conceived with Vijay in mind and was discussed before the actor left cinema to focus solely on politics. However, Vijay ultimately decided not to do it, which RJ Balaji respected. Subsequently, Surya became a part of the film.
Directed by RJ Balaji, "Karuppu" stars Surya alongside Trisha Krishnan in the lead role. The film tells the story of Vettai Karuppu, a guardian deity who takes on the role of a lawyer to fight corruption and injustice.
In addition to Surya and Trisha Krishnan, the film also stars RJ Balaji, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Natti Subramaniam. The film has been a success and has grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide at the box office.
