The popular Bollywood film series Hera Pheri is in the limelight once again, but this time due to a controversy surrounding copyright. Filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala has approached the Mumbai police by filing a complaint against people who have infringed upon the copyright as well as the remake rights of the film. The filmmaker has stated that his rights have been encroached upon, that he has been extorted for money, and also that there has been interference in plans made by his company regarding going public.
As per the complaint filed by Nadiadwala at Amboli police station in Mumbai, he has raised issues about the copyright and remake rights of the film. The police have filed cases against Gopala Pillai Vijayakumar and M. Paul Michael, according to different sections of the IPC, in order to probe into the issue.
