On Wednesday, the Gujarat Police Crime Branch arrested a Bollywood supporting actor named Hemant Modi (53). He was convicted of murder 12 years ago and imprisoned. However, after being granted parole, he escaped. He eluded the police for several years. During this time, Hemant Modi also acted in several major Bollywood films.

Hemant Modi was serving a life sentence in a murder case in 2005. He was granted parole in 2014 but subsequently escaped. He changed his identity and went straight to Mumbai, the city of dreams. After arriving there, he began acting, playing supporting roles in several TV serials and films.

In 2014, the Gujarat High Court granted Hemant Modi a 30-day parole. He was required to surrender to prison after this period, but he did not return. In July 2014, the High Court officially declared him a parole jumper. Now, the police have arrested Hemant Modi again, and he will be sent back to Mehsana jail to serve the remainder of his sentence.

Hemant Modi, the supporting actor has worked in Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan's film "Thugs of Hindostan", Ranveer Singh's film "Jayeshbhai Jordaar" and he has also acted in Sunny Deol's upcoming film "Lahore 1947".
