Venerated filmmaker Vignesh Shivan is concerned over piracy issues surrounding the movie Jana Nayagan of Thalapathy Vijay. According to him, it is a matter of great concern to the film industry as well. Vignesh stands by his editor and encourages fans to view the movie legally.

Director Vignesh Shivan recently expressed his displeasure when he saw someone watching a pirated version of Vijay's film "Jana Nayagan" on their phone. This incident occurred when Vignesh was present and was on his way to Madurai. He immediately reacted and snatched the phone from the man's hand. In an interview with Behindwoods, Vignesh Shivan said, "I couldn't control myself. To be honest, I felt like breaking that phone right there. It's very painful to see our hard work treated like this."

Vignesh Shivan's disappointment wasn't just a momentary incident. He hinted that the leak was a deliberate act of someone with insider access. He said, "Someone with insider access did this deliberately. For us, the film is like God. We protect and respect it with all our heart."

He described the piracy leak as a crisis for the entire industry, saying, "The piracy leak of the film 'Jana Nayakan' was like death. We don't know how the industry will recover from this." Fans and the public should go to theaters and celebrate. This is Thalapathy Vijay's last film." During the interview, Shivan also defended editor Pradeep E. Raghav, who worked on "Jana Nayakan" and his own film "Love Insurance Company." Despite speculation about the source of the leak, Shivan expressed confidence in Raghav's honesty.

It should be noted that Thalapathy Vijay has now become active in politics. Currently, "Jana Nayakan" is considered his last film as an actor. The film was scheduled to be released on January 9, 2026, but its release was delayed due to a lack of a censor certificate. Now, it has been leaked online even before it received censor approval.
