On Friday, the Saif Ali Khan knifing case saw the framing of charges against the accused by the court in Mumbai. The accused is from Bangladesh. The accused went into the house of Saif Ali Khan last January and stabbed Saif with a knife. After that incident, Saif Ali Khan spent several days in the hospital.

As reported by PTI, Additional Sessions Judge G.P. Deshmukh framed charges against the accused Mohammad Shariful Islam (30) despite the fact that the accused pleaded not guilty.

The accused will be tried under certain sections of the Indian Penal Code. The charges against him include robbery with the intention to cause grievous injury with a deadly weapon, house trespass, and sections of the Foreigners Act and Passport Rules.

On January 16th of last year, Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an assailant who entered his home with a knife. The accused was later arrested. According to media reports, the assailant entered Saif Ali Khan's son Taimur's room. He stepped forward to protect his son, but the assailant attacked Saif Ali Khan.

Family members later took Saif Ali Khan to the hospital. He recovered and returned home after a few days of treatment. Saif Ali Khan has mentioned this incident in several interviews.

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are starring in the film "Haiwaan." The film will be released this year. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film is scheduled for release on September 11th. Popular South Indian actor Mohanlal will also make a cameo appearance in the film. Saif Ali Khan will play a blind man in the film.
