Sadhvi Sail Wins Femina Miss India World 2026

Bhubaneswar, 19 April 2026: Amidst thunderous applause and dazzling lights at KIIT University, Sadhvi Sail from Goa emerged as the winner of the coveted Femina Miss India World 2026 title on Saturday evening. The 61st edition of India’s most prestigious beauty pageant, presented by KIIT Bhubaneswar and co-powered by Rajnigandha Pearls, concluded on a high note of elegance, empowerment, and national pride.

Rajnandini Pawar from Maharashtra was crowned Femina Miss India 2026 – 1st Runner-Up, while Sree Advaita took home the title of Femina Miss India 2026 – 2nd Runner-Up. Sadhvi Sail will now proudly represent India at the Miss World 2026 international pageant.

The spectacular grand finale, held on the sprawling KIIT campus, brought together 30 talented young women who had journeyed through months of intense preparation. The event beautifully embodied this year’s theme, “Connecting the DOTS – Daughters of This Soil,” celebrating India’s unity in diversity and the strength of its young women.

The journey to the crown began last November with a massive nationwide scouting drive covering North, East, North East, South, and West zones. After rigorous auditions, 30 state winners were chosen and underwent an extensive grooming boot camp in Mumbai led by top industry professionals. The training focused not just on external polish but on building confidence, articulation, and a strong sense of purpose.

Hosted at KIIT University under the guidance of its founder Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the contestants received a warm and memorable welcome. They explored the vast campus in buggies, formed human chains with cheering students and faculty, and were greeted by nearly 40,000 excited children from KISS. Over the following days, the young women immersed themselves in Odisha’s vibrant culture — enjoying a special Odia New Year feast and visiting the sacred Jagannath Temple and the iconic Konark Sun Temple.

The grand finale evening opened with vibrant cultural performances by KIIT and KISS students, featuring flute bands, multilingual music, and energetic tribal dances that set a festive tone. Anchors Maniesh Paul and Sarah Jane Dias gracefully hosted the proceedings. Inspirational speeches by Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta and Mr. Vineet Jain, Managing Director of The Times Group, highlighted the power of education and women’s empowerment.

The competition unfolded through several captivating rounds. The Top 30 state winners made their first grand appearance, introducing themselves with poise. A standout segment was “Vishwa Sutra – Weaves of India for the World,” an initiative in collaboration with the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles. The contestants showcased stunning contemporary adaptations of traditional handloom weaves from across India, paired with elegant Tanishq jewellery.

Singer Jubin Nautiyal enthralled the audience with his soulful performance, followed by a graceful gown round. Another highlight was the fashion presentation featuring designer Prbhjiit Maniktala’s “Vazaneh” collection, inspired by the “Daughters of This Soil” theme, with intricate embroidery, crystals, and sheer layers complemented by Tanishq pieces.

Special awards added excitement. As part of the Times Miss Beauty With a Purpose initiative in partnership with Ketto, ₹66,17,295 was raised to support children’s education and medical care. Femina Miss India Gujarat 2026 Parinaz Cooper emerged as the highest individual contributor with nearly ₹23.61 lakh and was awarded the Times Miss Beauty With a Purpose title. Femina Miss India Sikkim 2026 Passang Deekila Sherpa won the Times Miss Multimedia Award. Both received direct entry into the Top 15.

The tension peaked during the Q&A round with the Top 8 finalists, judged by a distinguished panel including Zeenat Aman, Madhur Bhandarkar, Dutee Chand, Neha Dhupia, Terence Lewis, Simran, Celina Jaitley, Amaal Mallik, and Vartika Singh. Performances by Lauren Gottlieb and Ishaan Khatter kept the energy soaring throughout the evening.

The emotional climax arrived with the coronation. Outgoing Femina Miss India World 2024 Nikita Porwal, along with other previous winners, crowned the new titleholders in a heartfelt moment.

All About the Winners:
