The unknown assailants fired indiscriminately at the newly opened Kap's Cafe of well-known comedian Kapil Sharma at 1:50 am on Thursday. Senior journalist Sameer Kaushal, who was at the location, provided complete information about the incident in a special interview with Amar Ujala Digital. He informed that approximately 12 shots were fired, many of which struck the walls and windows of the cafe head-on. The structure of the cafe has obviously been damaged. There are holes in the walls and broken glass.
Sameer Kaushal said that the area is completely residential. There is a day-care center in front of the cafe, where small children stay during the day. There are also shops and food places nearby. The sound of bullets at such a late hour spread panic in the locality. He further said, 'The staff of the cafe were present inside at the time of the incident, who were very scared, but fortunately no one was injured. The local people are still in shock and are worried about security. As soon as the police got the information, the team reached the spot and cordoned off the area, and started an investigation. At present, CCTV footage and other technical evidence are being examined.'
Sameer Kaushal further said that this is the third attack in a few days in Surrey city in which the Hindu community has been targeted. Earlier also there was firing at the office of businessman Satwinder Sharma. Before that, three officials of Laxminarayan temple were attacked with weapons. These incidents have created an atmosphere of fear among the local Indians.
So far there has been no reaction from Kapil Sharma on this matter. This cafe was started recently and was becoming increasingly popular among the local Indian community.
The police have registered a case and the attackers are being searched. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, security agencies have also become active.
