The Special Investigation Team arrested famous businessman Bobby Chemmanur on Wednesday. This has been done against him in the sexual harassment case filed by Malayalam actress Honey Rose. Arrested under the investigation, government sources informed on Monday.
He has been detained from Wayanad. An official of Kochi City Police has confirmed this. SIT is in the investigation of this case. The Circle Inspector of Kochi Central Station is leading. The actress in her complaint had accused jeweller Bobby Chemmanur of raping her.
A case was registered against Chemmanur under non-bailable sections after Rose's complaint. Rose, in her complaint, had alleged that Chemmanur also made objectionable comments against her several times.
Reacting to the police action, Rose said that it had proved to be a day of peace for her. Speaking to a news channel, Rose said that she had raised the matter before Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. After this, he had assured strict action against the accused.
The actress shared her experience on January 5 and revealed that the businessman was constantly making double-meaning comments to her and was also following her at events. The actress had said that she usually ignores such things, but in this case, there was a need to react due to the insult. Honey Rose had said that this person used to go to the functions where she was invited and make derogatory comments about her in public.
