This pressure to appear beautiful and have flawless features is quite unusual even before entering the modeling industry or taking part in beauty pageants. For instance, in this industry, there is usually the need to have a particular kind of appearance. Such a case was faced by the model and actress named Akanksha Chaudhary, who became known from the reality TV series Lock Up 2 and Splitsvilla X6. She has opened up about this issue and talked about the techniques used to reduce the size of her cheeks.

Akanksha Chaudhary spoke candidly with Pinkvilla. Meanwhile, Akanksha addressed online claims that she had undergone a nose job and completely denied the speculation. She said, "People are making videos claiming Akanksha had a nose job. No, I haven't had anything done." She then spoke about a different cosmetic procedure she seriously considered while preparing for the pageant world: buccal fat removal, a surgical procedure that aims to reduce fat from the cheeks and make the face appear more defined.

Akanksha revealed that while she was preparing for the Miss Universe competition, she seriously considered undergoing buccal fat removal. "Many people have told me a thousand times that only girls with perfectly sculpted faces succeed in the modeling and pageant world. I was told I had to remove the fat from my cheeks." I took this advice so seriously that I started saving money for it. I drastically cut down on my food expenses. I ate only once a day and survived on watermelon and fruit. After saving the money, I even came to Mumbai specifically to consult a doctor and have this surgery done."

Eventually, Akanksha reconsidered the surgery because she feared that permanently removing her cheek fat might alter her natural facial shape. Looking back, Akanksha says she's glad she didn't have the operation. Before making this decision, Akanksha said she had already experimented with non-surgical injectable treatments aimed at reducing facial fat. She claims she underwent the treatment for about four to five weeks, costing a total of about 40,000 to 60,000 rupees. However, this expensive treatment yielded no results, with the results being absolutely zero.
