Bigg Boss 20 contestant Qazi Touqeer has been unwell for the past few days. His team shared an update on his Instagram stories, addressed to "the Qazi family" of fans.
"Our rockstar Qazi has been dealing with fever for the past few days inside the Bigg Boss house and has been taking some much-needed rest whenever he gets the chance," the statement said.
Medical Room Visit
According to his team, Qazi recently felt low on energy and was taken to the medical room, where a doctor examined him. "He continues to be inside the Bigg Boss house, and we remain in touch with the BB team regarding his well-being," the statement added.
Still Participating
Despite taking it easy, Qazi continues to take part in the show. "Even while taking it a little easy, Qazi continues to participate, entertain everyone and bring his infectious positivity to the house," his team said.
They asked fans to "stay calm, keep faith" and keep sending love and prayers, signing off with, "Rest. Recover. And roar back, rockstar! We're all with you."
Why It Matters: Health Inside the House
Contestants in Bigg Boss live under constant cameras, with demanding tasks and limited rest. When a contestant falls ill, fans often rely on the family or social media team for updates, since the show itself shares limited information. Team Qazi's statement is meant to reassure supporters that he is being looked after while staying in the competition.
Who Is Qazi Touqeer?
Qazi Touqeer is a singer and performer from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, who first rose to national fame through Sony TV's Fame Gurukul in 2005. He had no formal music training before the show.
He was declared the winner alongside Ruprekha Banerjee on October 20, 2005, through public votes. After the win, the duo released the album Qazi-Ruprekha Jodi No-1, featuring the song "Yeh Pal."
The same Fame Gurukul season also featured Arijit Singh, who went on to become one of India's biggest playback singers, a connection that has drawn renewed interest since Qazi entered the Bigg Boss house.
Bigg Boss 20 marks Qazi's return to the reality TV spotlight nearly 21 years after his Fame Gurukul win. Salman Khan has called him the house's "rockstar," a name his team now uses in its updates to fans.
