Executive Committee of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) resigns following a heated discussion at the organization’s Annual General Meeting. As per the confirmation of AMMA President Shwetha Menon, all 17 members of the executive committee resigned following the filing of the no confidence motion against the existing leaders.

Resignation clearly indicates displeasure among some of the members. According to reports, many of the members filed the no confidence motion against the executive committee during the annual general meeting. It marks a huge milestone for the present executive committee, which made history in the year 2025 as Shwetha Menon became the president and Kukku Parameswaran the general secretary.

According to a report by 'Manorama Online', Shwetha told reporters after the meeting, "All members of the executive committee have resigned. The treasurer had absconded. When the AMMA office manager was fired and filed a police complaint, no attention was paid to the matter.

Instead, the treasurer himself disappeared, meaning we could not present the accounts for that period. All our accounts were in order from September 1st onwards. All I can say is that I am relieved not to be a member of AMMA anymore."

Reportedly, during the discussions, actor Ganesh Kumar supported the current leadership, while actor Mohanlal adopted a neutral stance. This committee had taken charge following a historic shift in the organization's leadership but soon found itself at the center of multiple controversies that exposed internal rifts within AMMA.

In 2025, the executive committee made history by electing two women to its highest positions: actress Shweta Menon became the first female president, and actress Kuku Parameswaran assumed the role of general secretary. However, this significant achievement was soon overshadowed by various controversies that exposed deep rifts within the guild, ultimately culminating in a major confrontation on Sunday.
