Director Nani's emotional action entertainer Delivery Boy will release in theatres worldwide on October 23. Music label Saregama Tamil announced the date with a new poster. "Get ready for love, music & emotions on the big screen! #DeliveryBoy Movie is Releasing in Theatres This Oct 23rd!" it posted.

A Son's Struggle

Speaking to IANS earlier, director Nani described the film as a story about "the efforts made by a hardworking delivery boy looking to save his mother. The hero of the story comes from a lower middle class family and the story will revolve around his efforts to save his mother. It will be a gripping story that will keep audiences hooked to the screen from the beginning to end."

Nani worked as an assistant director to filmmaker Suseenthiran before turning director.

Why It Matters: A Hero From the Gig Economy

Delivery workers have become an everyday part of life in Indian cities, delivering food and groceries at all hours. Yet their struggles rarely take centre stage in mainstream cinema. By making a delivery boy its hero, and building the story around a family crisis, the film taps into a world many urban viewers interact with daily but seldom see on screen.

Made in 42 Days

The film was shot entirely in Chennai and Coimbatore in just 42 days, with filming wrapping up in December last year. Post-production, including dubbing, followed soon after.
