Key Highlights

  • Unconditional support: Shehnaaz Gill says she isn’t following Bigg Boss 20, but will support Mahhi Vij “no matter how she plays.”
  • A debt of kindness: She recalled a time she “did not even have clothes” and Mahhi “stepped in and supported me a lot.”
  • Her words: “She is genuinely such a pure and clean hearted person.”
  • Timely: The support comes as Mahhi’s own Instagram account is reportedly disabled during her stint.

“I’m Still Supporting Her”

Shehnaaz Gill has come out in support of Mahhi Vij, who is currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 20. In an Instagram Story, Shehnaaz made it clear that her support has nothing to do with how Mahhi is playing.

“I am not following Bigg Boss so I don’t know how Mahhi is playing good or bad. But I’m still supporting her,” she wrote.

“There Was a Time When I Did Not Even Have Clothes”

Shehnaaz recalled a difficult phase when Mahhi stood by her. “I was also in the same platform that Mahhi is in today and I remember how difficult it was. There was a time when I did not even have clothes. Mahhi stepped in and supported me a lot.”

She added, “When I laughed she laughed with me. When I cried she cried with me. She is genuinely such a pure and clean hearted person. I have seen that side of her and that’s why no matter how she plays inside the house I will always support Mahhi.”

Why It Matters: A Voice When Mahhi Has None Online

Shehnaaz’s message comes at a key moment. Mahhi’s own Instagram account has reportedly been disabled during her Bigg Boss 20 stint, cutting off one of the main channels her team would use to share her side and rally support. In that gap, public backing from friends like Shehnaaz carries extra weight with fans.

Her post also stands out for what it does not do: it does not defend or judge Mahhi’s gameplay. Instead, it speaks about the person behind the contestant, at a time when Mahhi has faced criticism from some viewers inside the house.

A Shared Bigg Boss Bond

Shehnaaz herself rose to fame through Bigg Boss 13, which made her one of the show’s most popular contestants. Her bond with Mahhi has also shown up in the current season. In an earlier episode, when contestants were shown memorable moments from the show’s history, Mahhi broke down in tears while watching clips of Shehnaaz with the late Sidharth Shukla.

The Bottom Line

Whatever happens inside the Bigg Boss house, Shehnaaz Gill has made her stand clear: she remembers who stood by her, and she will stand by Mahhi Vij in return.
