Mumbai, Aug 1 — Actress Karishma Tanna, who recently became a mother to a baby boy, has shared a glimpse of her “first baby” — her Shih Tzu named Coco — waiting for her return home.
In her Instagram stories, Tanna posted a screenshot of a video call showing her in a hospital bed while Coco looked into the camera. She captioned the image: “My first baby waiting for me.”
Tanna and her husband, Varun Bangera, welcomed their first child, a son, on July 29. The couple announced the news through a joint Instagram post, noting that the baby was born on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. They shared a monochrome photograph of a newborn’s feet with a tag reading “he’s here” attached to the toes.
The accompanying caption stated: “It’s a boy! Karishma & Varun. Our greatest blessing. 29th July 2026.” In a second note they wrote: “Born on the sacred day of Guru Purnima… Our greatest blessing is here. 29th July 2026. Welcome to our world, little one. Karishma & Varun.”
The couple began their relationship in 2021 after being introduced by fashion designer Manish Malhotra at a New Year’s Eve celebration and married in Mumbai in 2022. They had announced the pregnancy in April this year with a series of photographs on Instagram.
Tanna first gained recognition for her work in television, including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Naagin 3 and Qayamat Ki Raat. She later appeared in films such as Grand Masti, Sanju and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. On OTT platforms she has been noted for Hush Hush and received wider acclaim for her role in Hansal Mehta’s series Scoop.
The brief story post offered a personal moment linking her new role as a mother with the affectionate place her pet continues to hold in the family.
