Mumbai, July 31 — Singer Armaan Malik has released his latest track Gaya Kaam Se, describing it as the start of a more personal phase in his musical journey and an effort to reconnect with the kind of music that feels most authentic to him.
Speaking about the song, Malik said: “Gaya Kaam Se is about that beautiful feeling of falling in love, when your heart quietly takes over and you stop trying to make sense of everything. I wanted the song to feel just as light, effortless and honest as that emotion. Over the last year, I’ve been rediscovering the kind of music that feels most like me. I want every song I make to feel personal, almost like a conversation, and Gaya Kaam Se is the first step in that direction.”
The track is presented as a light, emotionally direct composition intended to reflect the unselfconscious nature of early romantic feeling. Malik emphasised that the song marks a deliberate shift toward material that feels organic and conversational rather than overly constructed.
Earlier, on July 21, the singer announced that the planned release of Gaya Kaam Se had been postponed. The song had been scheduled for July 22, coinciding with his birthday. In a video message at the time, Malik explained that although he had invested heavily in the track, the timing did not feel appropriate.
“Hey everyone, this next song of mine, Gaya Kaam Se, I poured my heart into it and it is scheduled to release on 22nd of July which is tomorrow, which is also my birthday. But things just don’t feel right now and I feel like I want to wait a little longer and give it to you when the time feels right and when we’re in better circumstances. So yeah, I hope you understand,” he said.
The decision to delay the release came amid public unrest linked to the Cockroach Janta Party’s ‘Chalo Sansad’ march towards Parliament, during which clashes were reported after police stopped demonstrators and several students were detained.
With the track now available, Malik has positioned Gaya Kaam Se as the opening statement of a more introspective creative phase, one focused on emotional honesty and a closer connection with listeners.
