The second big song from Nayyi Navelli is here, and it is even stranger than the first. "Phata Patakha," sung by Madhubanti Bagchi, puts Yami Gautam Dhar in the middle of a zombie dance party, turning the undead into the life of the party.

"Phata Patakha is pure, uninhibited madness packed with humour and incredible energy," said Madhubanti. "Recording it was an absolute blast because the track is just so larger-than-life with that playful, high-octane edge."

She added that working with G. V. Prakash Kumar and Vayu made it "one of the most exciting tracks I've ever recorded. I can't wait to see people dancing to it!"

The Composer's Idea

G. V. Prakash Kumar said the song let the team "experiment with a very unusual musical world. The idea was to take the eccentricity of Nayyi Navelli and translate it into a track that feels instantly celebratory."

"I wanted the composition to have a strong hook and an energy that stays with you, while still retaining the quirky character of the film," he said, adding that Yami's performance "takes that energy to another level."

Why It Matters: The Music Is Selling the Genre

Nayyi Navelli is a family comedy with a fantasy and horror twist, about a bride whose brother-in-law suspects she is a "daayan." Its songs are doing much of the work of explaining that unusual mix to audiences.

The first song, "Bhabhi Tabaahi," introduced Yami's character Mohini through a wedding celebration, complete with a Moonwalk during a Devar-Bhabhi faceoff. "Phata Patakha" leans further into the supernatural side with its zombie theme. Together, the two tracks show the film's mix of family fun and spooky comedy.
