The makers of Ramayana: Part 1 have locked November 5 as the film’s worldwide release date, unveiling a new ensemble poster on the occasion of Navratri.

“On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, we celebrate the beginning of a new era. Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai. Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana Part 1: In cinemas WORLDWIDE, across all premium formats, from 5th November. Advance bookings open on Dussehra,” the makers wrote on Instagram.

Why It Matters: A Smart Shift on the Calendar

The film had earlier been announced for November 6. Moving to Thursday, November 5, gives it a longer opening run before Diwali on November 8, effectively a four-day festive weekend.

It also means Ramayana now arrives a day before two big South releases, Suriya’s Scene and Vijay Antony’s Appa Kutty, both set for November 6. Rather than opening on the same day, Ramayana gets a one-day head start to build momentum before the competition arrives.

Opening advance bookings on Dussehra, a festival that celebrates Rama’s victory over Ravana, is a fitting move that ties the film’s promotion to the story it tells.

About the Film

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Its music is composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The film will release in IMAX and premium formats, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

The Two-Part Plan

Part Release
Ramayana: Part 1 November 5, 2026
Ramayana: Part 2 Diwali 2027

The Bottom Line

With a new date, a new poster and bookings opening on Dussehra, Ramayana: Part 1 is setting itself up for one of the biggest festive releases in Indian cinema.
