Most films struggle to hold theatres after 50 days. Hanuman Ansh, based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, completed 63 days on Thursday, October 8, and was still drawing audiences even with Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 in cinemas. According to Sacnilk, the film added a modest single-day collection on Thursday, which remains notable at this stage of a theatrical run.

The Numbers

As of Day 63, Sacnilk puts the film’s domestic net at ₹327.98 crore and domestic gross at ₹387.38 crore. Worldwide gross is ₹427.43 crore, of which ₹40.05 crore comes from overseas markets. The film was made on a budget of just ₹2 crore. The report says it is among this year’s highest-grossing films worldwide.

For comparison, our Day 56 report put the worldwide gross at ₹414 crore, so the film has added roughly ₹13 crore over the past week. These are early estimates and may be revised.

Holding Ground Against Drishyam 3

Drishyam 3 has taken a large share of screens since its release, yet Hanuman Ansh has continued to earn. Its steady weekday collections point to a loyal audience that found the film through word of mouth, following a slow start in which it earned only ₹40 lakh in its first two weeks.

What Comes Next: A Trilogy

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is being expanded into a trilogy. The first part follows Neem Karoli Baba’s journey from childhood to attaining spiritual powers. The second will cover his journey to Kainchi Dham, and the third will explore his devotees. Audiences are also waiting for the film’s OTT release, though no date has been announced.

Why This Run Matters

A film that crossed ₹400 crore on a ₹2 crore budget is already a rare commercial story. Its staying power into a ninth week suggests that devotional and emotionally driven content can build a lasting audience outside the usual star-and-spectacle model. The announced trilogy will test whether that appeal carries into the sequels.
