Actor Randeep Hooda is set to star alongside Shraddha Kapoor in the upcoming movie, 'Eetha', directed by Laxman Utekar. According to him, the role of Mughal King Aurangzeb in the highly successful film 'Chhava' (starring Vicky Kaushal), released in the year 2025, was initially offered to him. He had turned down the offer, after which Akshay Khanna got to play the character.

Explaining his reasons for turning down the role of Aurangzeb, Randeep told Zoom that when director Laxman Utekar approached him for "Chava," he wasn't in the right frame of mind. He said he was very underweight and had shaved his head at the time. He had just finished shooting for "Savarkar." He said, "I was going through a case, and there were many complex issues surrounding the entire incident. I didn't want to go down that path at all. So, when this project (Eetha) came my way, I found it very appealing."

"Chava" was released in theaters on February 14, 2025. The film was based on the life of Sambhaji, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. According to media reports, "Chava" had a budget of ₹130 crore (₹130 crore). It grossed over ₹804 crore (₹804 crore) at the box office.
