John Nolan often appeared in his nephews' projects, becoming a part of their film world. He was seen as Douglas Fredericks in the films "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises." He also appeared in "The Following" and "Dunkirk."

On television, his role as John Greer in "Person of Interest" left a lasting impression. His character became a key part of the show's story.

In addition to these collaborations, John Nolan also had his own work. He gained initial recognition working with Daniel Deronda. He appeared in numerous British television productions over the years. In 2024, he appeared in "Dune: Prophecy."
