Producer-director Vikram Bhatt mentioned an occasion when despite being in a relationship with Sushmita Sen, he was experiencing financial difficulties. "Though I used to work with big stars, I used to have no money," Bhatt said.
According to a recent interview of Vikram with Siddharth Kannan, there was once a period of his life when despite working with the biggest stars of Bollywood and being in a relationship with the beauty queen, he had financial issues.
Vikram said, "I was a struggling director. I didn't even have the money to consume poison." I was directing Aamir Khan and dating Miss Universe, but I had no money. I was absolutely penniless. I remember not even having enough money to buy a CD. I lived like a fakir.
Around the same time, Vikram was directing the film "Ghulam," which was released in 1998 and starred Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji. He was also in the news for his relationship with Sushmita Sen.
The two met during the filming of "Dastak," Sushmita's debut film. Released in 1996, the film was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. At the time, Vikram was working as Mahesh Bhatt's assistant, and this is where their relationship began. However, their relationship later ended due to various reasons.
