Boman Irani Opens Up About Challenges of Filmmaking Ahead of His Birthday

Actor Boman Irani is going to turn 66 years old soon. He will celebrate his 66th birthday on December 2nd. Before his birthday, Boman Irani has shared crucial news about his second directorial venture. He also made it a point to clarify that this time, he is prepared to direct a film in an altogether new genre.

During a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor clarified that he has already begun work on his next film as a director. He said, "After directing a family drama, I have consciously decided to choose a different genre. I don't think I can remain confined to that genre just because people liked my first film. I want to explore a different world of cinema."

Regarding his new journey as a director, Boman Irani says, "Life is never a bed of roses. You can't escape difficulties. Making a film isn't easy. From the moment you start writing to finding someone to invest, casting is a whole different ball game, and then budgeting. You put your heart and soul into it, but you also have to accept that not everyone will like your work."

When asked about actors he would like to work with and direct, the actor said, "There are many actors I would like to work with. I would name three, and the other three would be offended. However, directing Amitabh Bachchan would truly be a unique experience for future generations. Just have the courage to tell them, 'This is the scene, and this is how it is.'" Boman shared that in addition to directing, he is also enjoying his role as a teacher.

Boman Irani made his directorial debut this year with the film "The Mehta Boys." This family drama tells the story of a father and son. The film also stars Boman Irani, along with Avinash Tiwari in a pivotal role.
