Director Anurag Basu revealed that the shooting will start in March 2025. Sharing an update on the upcoming film, Anurag Basu said that the film is in its pre-production stage, with the shooting scheduled to begin in March. Anurag told ANI, "We have not started shooting yet. We will start shooting next month." The film is jointly produced by Special Films and T-Series. No information has been made public yet about the lead female character. Through this film, Kartik Aaryan and Anurag Basu are working together for the first time. The name of this film is being told as Aashiqui 3. However, there is a controversy over this name. In such a situation, this name has not been officially confirmed.
Earlier in January 2025, there were reports that Tripti Dimri had distanced herself from this project, as the producers felt that she was not suitable for this role. Her bold scenes in Animal were cited as the reason, claiming that these scenes made her unsuitable for Aashiqui 3's traditional portrayal of innocence and purity. However, Anurag Basu denied these reports and said that it is not true. Tripti also knows this.
