The film has not only achieved success at the box office, crossing the 100 crore mark, but has also garnered immense appreciation from both critics and audiences.
"Satyaprem Ki Katha," directed by Sameer Vidwans and starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, was released on June 29. The film has not only achieved success at the box office, crossing the 100 crore mark, but has also garnered immense appreciation from both critics and audiences. Among the film's many highlights, Kartik Aaryan's portrayal of Sattu has become the talk of the town. One particular emotional and intense scene has received widespread acclaim, prompting director Sameer Vidwans to share his thoughts.
In a recent interview, Vidwans discussed the intention behind the "chappal scene," aiming to convey anger without resorting to an action sequence, as it was crucial for Sattu to remain true to his character. He expressed his surprise at Kartik's intense performance, revealing that during the shoot, the actor approached him and offered to re-enact the scene, giving Vidwans the option to remove it if unsatisfied. Kartik proceeded to reshoot the sequence, where he beats up a character with a 'chappal' and then breaks down in tears. This moment sent shivers down everyone's spines.
Vidwans further recounted his conversation with Kartik after the scene, expressing his bewilderment. Kartik simply explained that the emotional outburst had come from within. The audience's enthusiastic response, with cheers, whistles, and applause, was a testament to the impact of Kartik's performance.
During the interview, Sameer Vidwans also shared that Kartik Aaryan was the first choice for the role of Sattu while writing the script. The director emphasized that Kartik's innocent face perfectly embodied the essence of the character.
As "Satyaprem Ki Katha" continues to thrive globally, Kartik Aaryan has already embarked on his next venture, "Chandu Champion," directed by Kabir Khan, and has "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" and a love story helmed by Anurag Basu lined up in the pipeline.
