Fans of "Kalki 2898 AD" finally have a clearer picture of when they might see the film's much-anticipated sequel, as director Nag Ashwin shared a significant production update. Following the massive success of the first installment, which brought together Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in a genre-blending sci-fi mythological epic, the team is now gearing up to resume full-scale production on the follow-up film.
Shooting Resumes This October
Speaking to Variety India, Ashwin confirmed that regular shooting is set to resume from mid-October, now that call sheets for all key actors have finally been secured. "We are resuming regular shooting from mid-October, as we now have call sheets for all the actors. Earlier this year, we shot some individual scenes with Kamal Sir and Bachchan Sir. We were waiting for Prabhas's call sheet, and now that has been finalized," he explained.
This update follows a pattern of incremental progress on the sequel, with the production team having already completed several shooting schedules involving individual cast members over the past year, even as they awaited full alignment of the entire principal cast's availability.
