Every Navratri, Mumbai’s Durga Puja pandals turn into a stage where faith and film stars meet. This year, one of the most shared moments came from the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja, where Alia Bhatt stood before the beautifully decorated idol of Maa Durga, folded her hands in a namaste and greeted everyone with a wide smile. Moments later, she turned and waved to the crowd, a simple gesture that fans quickly turned into reels and posts across social media. She also took part in the aarti.
A Look Rooted in Tradition
Alia kept her festive look close to classic Bengali puja style. She wore a bright fuchsia-pink saree with delicate gold motifs and a metallic border, paired with a sky-blue blouse with puffed sleeves. Big gold jhumkas, stacked gold bangles and a statement ring completed the look, while her hair was tied in a neat low bun with a gajra. Against the red, gold and floral backdrop of the pandal, the pink and blue combination stood out.
But beyond the outfit, it was her calm, respectful body language at the idol that fans connected with most.
