Actor Tom Holland’s film Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit the screens of India now. Holland revealed that he wasn’t satisfied with the first version of the film. Nor were his fellow actors. The actor claimed that the whole crew wasn’t happy with the first cut of the film since it was totally unlike what the producers intended.
The film is set to release in theaters everywhere tomorrow, on Friday, July 31. However, in India, the film was released one day earlier, on Thursday. Actor Tom Holland commented on the lengthy process of editing his fourth solo film. He explained that some changes were made to the film based on audience feedback before the creative team reconsidered their vision. According to Deadline, in a recent interview, Tom Holland said, "Interestingly, we saw several different cuts of this film. There was one cut where changes were made to the film based on suggestions from different people who had seen it." The actor further explained that this experimentation didn't yield the desired result.
Holland said, "We saw the first cut, and we didn't like it at all." Explaining why he didn't like that version, the actor added, "It didn't work perfectly. It was what people were asking for, but it wasn't what we wanted as creatives. But he learned from that experience that a film can change in a thousand different ways in the editing room." Tom Holland's comments offer a glimpse into the post-production process of a major superhero film.
