Key Highlights
- New date: Udta Teer will now release on October 23 instead of October 9.
- The reason: The makers want a cleaner release window, letting films like Drishyam: The Conclusion and The Vvaan complete their runs.
- The story: Ayushmann plays Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India and starts fighting for India.
- Double release: Ayushmann's Yeh Prem Mol Liya follows on November 27, just five weeks later.
Ayushmann Khurrana's Udta Teer has a new release date. The makers announced on Friday, with a fresh poster, that the film will arrive in cinemas on October 23, two weeks after its earlier date of October 9.
The move gives the film a cleaner window and a stronger theatrical run, instead of competing for screens in a suddenly crowded market. It allows films such as Drishyam: The Conclusion and The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest to complete their runs first.
"India's First Patriotic Comedy"
Ayushmann plays Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and begins to believe he is Indian. Speaking to IANS earlier, he described it as "India's first patriotic comedy where I become a Pakistani spy and lose my memory in India."
