French actor Gerard Depardieu will spend 18 months in jail, found guilty in sexual harassment case
Gerard Depardieu, French Actor: France's famous actor, Gerard Depardieu, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting two women. After which the court has sentenced him to 18 months of suspended jail.

There is shocking news regarding veteran actor Gerard Depardieu, who dominated the French industry for decades. The 76-year-old actor, who has acted in around 250 films, has been convicted in sexual harassment by the court. As soon as this piece of news came to light, the actor has received a huge shock from the fans.
During the shoots of a 2021 film 'Les Voltes Verts,' the actor was accused of molesting two women, upon which a case was lodged against him in court. Actor Gerard has now been found guilty in the same case. In addition to an 18-month suspended prison term, the actor has been fined 29,040 euros, or approximately Rs 27.6 lakh. Besides this, he has also been directed to be added to the national list of sexual offenders.
During the shooting of the film, a 54-year-old female set dresser and a 34-year-old assistant had alleged that Depardieu raped them. One woman had said in court that the actor touched her private part. Both women had openly given statements against the veteran actor.
In March, actor Gerard denied all the allegations. The actor, who was nominated for the Oscars in 1991, had said that he was completely innocent and had not done anything. However, the court found sufficient evidence against him, and he was found guilty.
It is worth noting that in the last few years, more than 20 women have accused the actor of misbehaving. But only two of those cases reached the court.
Actor Gerard did not appear in court during the sentencing. His lawyer has announced to appeal against the verdict. The lawyer says that if the defense cannot appeal against the verdict then the justice system has no meaning.
While many people welcomed this decision of the court, some film personalities also raised their voice in support of Depardieu. Famous actor Vincent Perez and actress Fanny Ardant reached the court in his support. According to French media, a few days before this decision, Depardieu was shooting for his new film in Portugal which is being directed by Fanny Ardant.
