Actor Anuj Arora, who has been a part of shows TV shows like Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum, Bandini, Thodi Khushi Thode Gham, Behenein and web series Anarchy, is making his Bollywood debut with Koi Jaye Toh Le Aaye directed by Fahad Kashmiri and produced by Vibhu Agarwal. The movie is a thriller murder mystery, and it is all the more special for him as the name of his character is the same as his mother.
“I am playing Vijay, one of the lead characters, but I can’t reveal much about it. I am fortunate to be part of this project with such a great cast: Aakash Talwar, Heena Panchal, and Sherleen Dutt. One special thing is that my name in the film is Vijay, and that is also my mother’s name. I am really looking forward to this role, and I hope it is well received by people,” he said.
The teaser for Koi Jaye Toh Le Aaye was released recently and has been well received by the audience. Though the release date has not been confirmed yet, the actor is hopeful that it will release sometime next month. He further shared that he is quite excited about the movie, as it took him 15 years to get here. “It’s a surreal thought to see my film released. I am very fortunate. When I was approached, it was going to be a web series, but after the shoot and edit, the producers liked it so much that they decided to release it as a film. It’s a theatrical release, and I am excited to see it on the big screen. It’s like living a dream,” he said.
Anuj grew up watching Govinda’s films, as well as other hits like Maine Pyar Kiya, Lamhe, Mr. India, and Cheeni Kum, and even Zoya Akhtar's and Irrfan Khan's films. He added, “We used to have a CD player at home, and we would watch Maine Pyar Kiya and Lamhe on repeat.” And as far as his inspiration in Bollywood goes, it is none other than Amitabh Bachchan. “His journey in the world of films has been amazing. He is a role model for everyone. In the MAMI film festival, I was in the front seat, listening to the master class where Mani Ratnam sir was interviewed by Imtiaz Ali and it was mind-blowing and very inspiring,” he ended.
