FWICE Objects to Film Title ‘Ghuskhor Pandit’, Appeals for Immediate Withdrawal
Ghooskhor Pandat Controversy: The name of Manoj Bajpayee's film "Ghooskhor Pandit" recently caused a lot of controversy. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has also expressed objection to this issue.
After the protest over the name of the film "Ghooskhor Pandit," the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has issued a special appeal to film and television producer associations, as well as OTTs, and various film associations. They have expressed their concern over the derogatory and offending titles of films in a letter.
Federation of Western India Cine Employees, or FWICE, had written a letter to film and television production bodies, OTT platforms, and several film bodies on Friday. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees wrote in its letter, "We express serious concern about the controversial film titled 'Ghuskhor Pandit,' produced under the Neeraj Pandey banner. The concerned associations strongly object to the use of this title. It targets a particular community and their traditional means of livelihood in a derogatory and offensive manner. Such titles have the potential to hurt sentiments, create misunderstanding, and disrupt social harmony."
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees further wrote in the letter, "We appeal to producer bodies to stop the registration of inflammatory titles. Director Neeraj Pandey is advised to withdraw the title to maintain social harmony and unity."
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees ultimately demanded appropriate action. FWICE stated, "If necessary action is not taken soon, we will be forced to advise all our concerned associations and our members to stay away from any project involving producer Neeraj Pandey." We are confident that you (Neeraj Pandey) will understand the seriousness of this matter and take appropriate action in the interest of the film industry and society.
