Dhurandhar Controversy: While Dhurandhar is enjoying box office success, controversy is brewing around it. Now, the actor who played a key role in the film has given his reaction to the controversy.
Dhurandhar, under the direction of Aditya Dhar, is making news these days. The spy action thriller boasts an impressive cast who have managed to awe audiences with their impressive performance. The theaters are housefull, and Dhurandhar continues to have a successful run at the box office.
Released on December 5th at theaters, Dhurandhar apart from minting money at the boxes, is receiving ample appreciation from audience members and critics. But on the other side, there are people who find it Islamiophobic.
Actor Gaurav Gera has now reacted to the criticism of Dhurandhar. Gaurav plays spy agent and informer Mohammad Alam in the film. In a conversation with Zoom, he broke his silence on the controversy surrounding Dhurandhar and urged people to watch the film first and then judge it. He said, "I would just like to tell those people to please go and watch the film first. I remember a social media post that said, 'Dhurandhar has redefined Indian cinema,' and I would like to mention it here. Such films come along once in a while, and Aditya Dhar is in a league of his own. I am very proud of him, both as an actor and as a viewer."
The release date of Dhurandhar 2 was announced alongside the release of Dhurandhar. Regarding the sequel, which is expected to hit theaters three months later, Gaurav said, "All I can assure you is that Dhurandhar 2 will take things to a bigger level. It's even better." Dhurandhar 2 will clash with Yash starrer Toxic, releasing on March 19, 2026. Gaurav said that a good film creates its own audience.
