It was reported by the Santa Fe Police to The Sun and also confirmed that Gene Hackman and his wife are dead. The actor's dog was also found dead at the scene of the crime.

According to news agency PTI, officials said that Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife were found dead in their house in New Mexico on Wednesday. However, officials have not given much information about the circumstances of his death. The investigation is currently underway. Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dennis Avila said that on Wednesday at 1:45 pm local time, police arrived at the house on request to check it and found Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and the dog dead.

Hackman was among the famous stars of Hollywood. In 1971, he won the Oscar for Best Actor for the role of Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle in William Friedkin's thriller The French Connection.
